Choristers - Why not Join us?
We are always keen to welcome new singers who want to try something just a bit different, to maintain the Choir at its concert strength of 60+ with a good balance of voice groups. We sing a broad range of music adapted for 4-part choir harmony, including folk songs, ballads, swing, songs from the shows, spirituals, opera choruses, and even some pop! You'd be part of a group that really understands teamwork, and strives for excellence in everything it does.
We rehearse every Wednesday for most of the year, performing 8-10 concerts around the area, supporting local charities and fundraising. Our Annual Concert is held at the Wycombe Swan each May. We often go further afield - Jersey, Kelkheim, Wales, London, Oxford, to name just a few venues - and we performed (again) at the Royal Albert Hall in October 2006 as part of the spectacular London Welsh Male Choir Festival.
Our weekend in May 2007 performing at several venues as part of the third British International Male Voice Choral Festival in Cornwall was a superb experience for choir and supporters alike, especially singing in the Mediterranean Biodome at the Eden Project!
What qualifications do you need? Only ability to hold your own singing line, for which you will be ably taught and supported with learning CDs - so you don't have to read music!
We meet at 7.45 on Wednesdays at the Wesley Methodist Church, Priory Road, High Wycombe HP13 6SE; parking is available in the Hamilton Road School slightly further up Priory Road.
