Let us help you with your Fundraising!
Every year we help to raise money for national and local charities and perform in support of numerous organisations, in venues ranging from churches and village halls to national and local theatres, and even in the open air!
For each concert we provide the conductor, the compère, an accompanist and of course our choristers and with you we develop an appropriate musical programme. Where required we also bring our own portable tiered staging, and an electronic keyboard. Your commitment would be to provide the venue and light refreshments for the choir, generate publicity, produce the Programmes (we can assist if required) and make ticket and Programme sales.
Most local concerts have ticket prices ranging from £10 to £12, which means that if 150 people attended £1500+ would be taken in ticket sales alone, with extra income being raised from the sale of Programmes and refreshments and cash collections taken at the close of the event.
The Choir often bring along 20-30 partners and friends to our concerts, who would pay a negotiated concessionary rate forming part of your ticket sales.
The Choir is a registered charity and our fee is set to cover our commitments and royalties - typically 25% of takings, with a £250 minimum. We will consider charging a lower base fee in support of specific local events where we have a special affinity with the cause or organisation.
In all cases we expect a booking deposit of £100 to be paid, which is non-returnable if the proposed event is later cancelled by the organisers. This is only fair since by committing the Choir to a specific event we are turning down other opportunities in the weeks around it, and we cannot easily replace any lost booking at short notice.
Please bear in mind that you do need to ensure a minimum paying audience of around 100 people, not only to cover costs, but to make the event worthwhile for all concerned. For most organizations this is not difficult to achieve. An enthusiastic audience encourages the Choir to deliver its best!
For smaller events:
It might also be of interest to you that we have two smaller Choir groupings, both providing similar high quality entertainment:
- The Swan Singers, consisting of 30 or so of our members, who are available for daytime events;
- The Cygnets, a 12-16 strong group also singing Orpheus Choir repertoire at evening and weekend gatherings that are unable to support a larger Choir assembly.
For fund-raising to be a success, forward planning is vital and we are happy to discuss how your particular requirements might be met. Please contact our Concert Organiser Barrie Reece for further information:
